ABSTRACT
The following notes and suggested diagnostic survey procedures are based
largely on the author’s personal experience of observing and recording earth-
building failures, mainly in cob walls, over a number of years. The checklist
is intended to cover all the various factors (described above in Chapter 6) that
may contribute to failures in earth structures, but in outline only and should
not, therefore, be considered in any way definitive.
