ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on precious metal heap leaching regulations and practices, which have evolved rapidly because of the recent expansion of the industry coupled with the extreme toxicity of cyanide. However, the developed technology and approach are generally applicable to copper ores and other applications of percolation leaching. Much of it is derived from Van Zyl et al. (1988).
