ABSTRACT

In the days of the feudal régime, the lands of the Tüshee Güng belonged to the hundred or so banners known as the Central Banners of Khalkha. The pastures of the Gobi Tüshee Güng took up an extensive area in present-day South Gobi aimag,1 half of Mid-Gobi, the northern part of East Gobi, and the southern part of Central aimag. The Gobi Tüshee Güng was old at the time of our story, and had a single son named Shagdarjav.
