ABSTRACT
The sufferings of the creatures of the six classes have become greater than in the Land of the Snowy Mountains. Diseases of the blood and jaundice and also chronic jaundice have increased, and the palsy and madness are occurring. Frustrated in this way, they are killing each other. The reason is that, in a time of degeneration, good fortune has declined, and illness and epidemics have become great. Beneficial scriptures are: Recite Altan Gerel. Summon good fortune. Perform the ablutions of Batsar Bidarana one hundred and eight times. Recite the Mani-prayer one hundred thousand times; Megzem ten thousand times; Glorious Sandalwood, Prajnaparamita and The Eight Luminosities as much as possible. Make incense-offerings continuously. Perform exorcisms. If creatures who belong to the Faith are in accordance with the Doctrine, then you, the Patrons, will be freed from illness and epidemics, and will be at ease. But if you entertain doubts, it will be of no use. For the sake of the welfare of all creatures we have sent this to the Ölet of Kökönor and the Six Banner Princes of Ordos. If you, our Patrons, diligently distribute this, you will direct all creatures of the six classes towards the sanctity of Buddhahood. The Bodhisattva Khongshim Aryabalo and the
bodhisattvas who understand twelve languages have issued their order and disseminated it to all lands. As no thought is given to the Four Seas of being born, growing old, falling ill and dying, we have issued this order. It is a time when, should people die, the death-rites are not performed; a time when the scriptures are recited falsely; a time when the orders of the Three Jewels are not regarded; a time when the lama-teachers and the clergy are not honoured; a time when true words are not spoken; a time when dead persons are not delivered; a time when, if people fall ill, alms are not given; a time when the orders of the holy lamas are decried; a time when wolves enter the dwellings of men. Let wolves not enter the dwellings of men!
