In­many­senses­this­is­a­chapter­that­brings­together­all­the­other­chapters.­If­everything­else­ about­the­learning­is­considered,­for­example,­acknowledging­weak­short­term­memory,­ providing­appropriate­worksheets,­anxiety,­attitude­and­attribution­can­still­generate­failure.­Failure­can­be­specific­to­a­topic,­a­lesson­or­even­part­of­a­lesson,­but­unaddressed,­ unrecognised­failure­at­any­stage­in­maths­has­serious­consequences­for­future­learning.
