ABSTRACT

Since the start of the new millennium, shopping via a computer has moved from something indulged by a niche market to a commonplace activity amongst the population masses. The internet has provided the retail industry with a new and exciting way of enticing consumers to purchase products from the comfort of their own home, office or wherever else they gain access to the ‘virtual world’. In fact, recent developments in the personal mobile communications industry would suggest that before long we will be able to go shopping literally anywhere at anytime. However, non-store shopping is not a new phenomenon. The home delivery option has evolved alongside stores as the retail industry has developed.
