ABSTRACT

In this chapter, I take further the linkage between a pluralist approach to competing psychological theories and a pluralist approach to personality. My intent is to work out an attitude to developmental psychology rather than to attempt a new developmental theory; in that sense, the reflexive aspects of the first chapter are also continued. By the end of the chapter, we shall be dealing with the topic of personality itself, trying to see how the contents of what I term the ‘imaginal network’ inflect the personality, without recourse to the idea of a structure prior to and separate from such contents.
