ABSTRACT
In chapter 4 we looked at the test of a shattering world; in chapter 5 at a man trying to piece his shattered world and self together again, needing the models of other times besides what was left him in the present. In both chapters we were trying to gain, from extreme situations and from imaginative literature, insights into what is normally hidden by ordinary life within ordinary life.
