ABSTRACT
Of the body of published scholarly work on the subject of lesbian theatre(s), most has focused on American rather than British or other theatres, and on theoretical approaches to the representation of lesbians in feminist performance. Plays have not been the primary focus of most such work; rather, lesbian performance-the activity rather than the ‘product’—has been studied.
