ABSTRACT

In this chapter, some recurring problems and predicaments in organizational research will be examined. The issues have been touched upon in earlier chapters but receive a more detailed treatment below. Inevitably, the choice of issues is idiosyncratic, deriving as they do from one writer’s views about the state of the field, but it is doubtful whether there would be wholesale disagreement among other writers about what is included; rather, they are more likely to object about what is excluded. None the less, a consideration of the kind of issues examined below would seem necessary in a book such as this.
