ABSTRACT
In addition to these basic divisions , Holmes also makes a brief mention of two important types of research: the study of translation studies itself (for example the history of transla tion theory and the history of translator training) and the study of the methods and models which are best suited to particular types of research in the discipline. Both these areas of study have been receiving more attention in recent years.
