ABSTRACT

I got a job as a waiter to support myself financially while I entered rehearsals with a young theatre group. We prepared a classical tragedy, all committing to a long rehearsal period. Each person in the group was in his own way a follower or a great admirer of Grotowski. We worked for profound results, sparing no effort, and tried to create a physical form of expression. Serious, even super-serious, we loved to get together after rehearsal and belittle the normal banal theatre world; laughing and poking fun at those we considered trivial.
