ABSTRACT
That’s why I’m very serious about insisting that whites are an ethnic segment. That mainstreams are a segment that is identifiable, sometimes conflated with the nation that houses it; so, colour–yes, there’s all kinds of differences among white people. I’m white. I have some French ancestry, but my family’s culture is Latino Mexican American. I’ve grown up with this my whole life and probably that’s why I do the work I do.
