ABSTRACT
Behind the initiatives-national and European-directed at achievement of construction quality, described in this book, are a number of issues yet to be resolved: some inherent in the nature of construction; and some whose origin lies in the Single Market and the European legislation it has brought about, and will bring into being, particularly 89/106/EEC, its Interpretative Documents and ongoing work on preparation of European standards.
