ABSTRACT
This chapter sets out some principles concerning the nature of industrial buildings and their potential for re-use. Such an approach is, one hopes, of value, given that most of the literature on this subject was written over a decade ago, and recent years have seen many advances in terms of research, policy-making and practice.
