ABSTRACT
This chapter is based on material collected while examining how HIV-prevention outreach workers construct personal and professional boundaries within work, and between work and other parts of their lives. The research is specifically focused on sexual boundaries and gay and bisexual men’s HIV-prevention activities. Most of the information has been collected through in-depth interviews with gay men, although the research has also included interviews with some bisexual men, lesbians and heterosexual women.1
