ABSTRACT
Keeping a central course from the entrance of the Disneyland theme park and across Fantasyland, visitors reach a huge toy-town clock set in a castle. They board one of the family-size passenger boats in the castle moat and are carried on a world tour through symbolic national settings inhabited by mechanical models of children in stereotyped adult folk costumes. This is ‘It’s a Small World’, one of the most popular rides in Disneyland, and one of the few with external sponsorship.
