ABSTRACT

We – writers, painters, sculptors, architects, empassioned lovers of Paris's beauty … we have come to protest … in the name of French good taste, in the name of art, in the name of history, against the construction in the very heart of our beloved capital of this useless and monstrous Eiffel Tower … for the next twenty years we'll see spreading out across our city like an ink stain … the foul shadow of this foul and bolt-encrusted pile of sheet metal.
