ABSTRACT
The leftist Palestinian spectrum is occupied mainly by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the latter having split away from the former. 1 The PFLP itself evolved out of the Arab Nationalist Movement, which arose out of the merger of two groups, composed chiefly of the students and staff of the American University in Beirut in 1952.
