ABSTRACT

When we work with clients, sooner or later we will come face to face with our own issues-those that inhabit our personal living rooms and bedrooms as well as our therapy offices. Sometimes these issues that bubble up from the therapeutic ooze are the ones that disturb us to our core. Almost always, the confrontation is a surprise. We may even feel blindsided, especially when a client’s story suddenly opens an old wound we didn’t know was still ready to gush with blood.
