ABSTRACT

Setting Up Composites The fi rst thing we need to do is set up a base composite that serves as a template for the entire fi lm. The longer your modular middle turned out to be, the more you are going to benefi t from this stage. Even if you have very few modular shots, setting up a single composite for reuse is the best workfl ow to employ. Also, remember how in the 3D pre-production chapter we set up a lighting rig? Reusing our lighting rig means that many of the compositing tasks that require fi ne-tuning, like color correction and adjusting levels, are greatly shortened by using the same lights over and over. This work is already hugely paying off . Take a look at the composite example.
