ABSTRACT
In the past, it was often said that language had developed to its limit by the early primary school years. This is not the case: language continues to develop through to mature years. But it is not as easy to recognise the growth of language in adolescence as it is to recognise the rapid growth of language that is obvious in a child's early years.
