ABSTRACT
In this chapter some beginning teachers whom I had worked with during their pre-service course share more of their teaching stories. (Other brief extracts of these stories were included in Chapters 3 and 4.) In thinking how to present their narratives in this chapter, I have decided to offer them in the style they were shared with me as we chatted over coffee during the Christmas holidays at the end of their first year of teaching. Unfortunately their stories have had to be cut drastically to fit within this chapter. This has been done by focusing on the key issues and joys experienced by each teacher. The names of the beginning teachers and others mentioned in the stories have been changed for reasons of confidentiality.
