ABSTRACT
The pub, given its position and interior, did not attract passing trade and had few attractions for the young, who tended to go to the more upmarket pubs and nightclubs with late-night licences. As a result the Grafton’s clientele were a relatively static group of middle-aged people with a few elderly regulars.
