ABSTRACT

The toymaker makes wonderful toys for children. She is getting so many orders for her toys that she needs to employ more staff to work with her. Tonica the toymaker and her apprentices (the children) design and make new toys, but they also mend old toys that are worn out. They meet Charlie Bear, who was once a much-loved bear but now sits alone on a shelf covered in dust. Charlie Bear's owner now has new toys to play with and he is feeling very neglected. They also receive a visit from a representative for a large toy company (or Father Christmas, if it is an appropriate time of the year), who wants designs for some new traditional toys. Can the apprentices rise to these challenges?
