ABSTRACT
The sociology of knowledge has a long-established intellectual pedigree, but only relatively recently has the analysis of knowledge processes become a central concern in the fields of development and social change.2 This chapter explains the significance of this interest in knowledge issues and identifies critical dimensions for further theoretical and empirical exploration.
