ABSTRACT
A linguistics professor Noam Chomsky used the term ‘deep structure’ to
convey the idea that all languages are underpinned by a common set of
rules. The rules are so deep-seated that there is little or no hint of them in
the expression of a given language – yet another analogy of chaos theory.
Is there a message here about the nature of proportion in architecture
