ABSTRACT
At the beginning of the 1990s, the Øresund Region was located at the periphery of the European Communities. Now, at the end of the 1990s, the situation of the region has changed. It is still, formally, a Danish-Swedish border region, but in the European Union, it is also a region that transcends boundaries, a laboratory for a transnational city construction and a model for European integration.
