ABSTRACT

The Province of Lampung is located on the tip of southern Sumatra, with South Sumatra (Sumatera Selatan) to the north and, in the west, a short border with Bengkulu, which continues north-westwards up the coast. To the south is the Sunda Strait (Selat Sunda), with Java (Jawa—Banten province) beyond it in the south-east. East is the Java Sea and west the Indian Ocean. The province also includes a number of islands off the south coast, in the Sunda Strait. The total area of Lampung province is 34,624 sq km.
