ABSTRACT
The Data Protection Act is enforced by the Information Commissioner, currently Elizabeth France. The Commissioner also enforces the Telecommunications (Data Protection & Privacy) Regulations 1999. The Commissioner’s Office is an independent regulatory authority, reporting directly to parliament.
