ABSTRACT
Young children with disabilities have needs that are both similar to and unique from their typically developing peers. Because of the similarities, many of the teaching strategies used with typically developing children may also be used effectively with children with special educational needs. However, due to the unique needs of young children with SEN, adaptations may also be required. Without these adaptations, some children with SEN will be faced with serious barriers to experiencing and exploring the learning environment.
