ABSTRACT

Art has an important place in primary education. Through it we can try to cultivate in children a love for artistry and a feeling for beauty by means, in part, of practical work, but also through effective presentation. Personal discernment will be aided by experimentation with art materials, the use of art concepts, and the development of fundamental design criteria to make visual statements, and this will help children to develop craft skills and a more sensitive awareness of the world around them. It is a subject that can greatly affect the character of a school, for its products can be exhibited widely. In fact, art work is seen mainly through being exhibited.
