ABSTRACT

In April 1978 the Danish Minister for Education published a report entitled Experiments in combined educational and production programmes. The report gave an account of a number of trials which had taken place up to that time in combining teaching with manufacture and demonstrated the direction in which progress might be made in this field. The report was well received by the general public and local authorities were optimistic about the feasibility of introducing this type of training programme for certain groups of young unemployed people. In a circular which has since been confirmed by statute, permission was granted for local authorities and district councils to establish subsidised programmes provided they had the approval of the Education Department.
