ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the fundamental characteristics of quantitative research will be explored. As suggested in the previous chapter, this research tradition is usually depicted as exhibiting many of the hallmarks of a natural science approach. One of the main purposes of this chapter will be to examine the degree to which the characteristics of quantitative research are a product of a natural science approach.
