ABSTRACT

This chapter covers many of the commonly used techniques for examining associations: correlations, simple regression, multiple regression, logistic regression, factor analysis and Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. As well as providing an introduction to these techniques, the way in which they can be carried out using SPSS will be explained, and information about how to interpret the results of the SPSS output produced by the analyses, and how to write up the results of the analyses is provided. In addition, two other increasingly popular techniques, structural equation modelling and meta-analysis, are briefly discussed.
