ABSTRACT
This chapter is concerned with strategic planning in HEIs and the role and contribution of finance to that process. Strategic planning is undertaken in most medium to large organisations in both public and private sectors but a broad distinction can be drawn between two main types of strategic planning which indicates a major difference in approach between them.
