As noted previously, capital budgets will usually be prepared on a project basis. Estimates of capital expenditure on building works, engineering works and equipment will be prepared by technical specialists such as architects and engineers. Where the project extends over several years, estimates of expenditure will usually be prepared for each year based on the likely level of capital works to be undertaken in that year.
