ABSTRACT

The order of some of the contents of the main body of a dissertation is established while others depend upon the individual nature of a study. The introduction is a concise description and explanation of the purposes and scope of the study. The objective section is a description of the rationale within which the research questions are to be pursued. This section often includes a statement of the hypotheses to be examined. The context section normally includes the main survey and critical appraisal of the literature relating to the research topic. The research design section includes, as appropriate, the choice or development of data collection instruments or tools, and the rationale for making such choices. The implementation section describes the means and methods by which the research was pursued in practice, including the organisation and administration of the data-gathering strategies. In the conclusions, the significance of the analysis of the evidence in relation to the research questions is described.
