Introduction

This is a book about the ethics of teaching in a higher education context. It is concerned with the real-life, everyday moral dilemmas that confront university teachers managing relationships with students and their colleagues. Such dilemmas may arise in various different contexts. These include classrooms and lecture halls, science laboratories, tutorial and meeting rooms, workplace environments and electronically, through the increasing use of e-mail and discussion boards.
