ABSTRACT
The framework outlined here should be used in the context of the revised national curriculum and the Order for Citizenship Education. It will also need to be seen in the context of parallel curriculum initiatives such as careers education, the healthy schools standard and education for a sustainable environment. All these aspects of the curriculum require a coherent whole-school approach to planning.
