If we are to evaluate the impact of education for active citizenship, it is important never to forget the big picture. How far (and on what evidence) is citizenship education in your school contributing to a ‘change in the political culture of this country both nationally and locally: for people to think of themselves as active citizens, willing, able and equipped to have an influence in public life’?
