ABSTRACT
In this chapter we examine the data for both samples on preparation and on professional development activities, both separately and in combination. We divided preparation into three sub-categories, viz., lesson planning; marking and recording; and organising learning resources. In this chapter and elsewhere we use the word preparation to refer to the overall category, not the sub-category of lesson planning which it sometimes means in everyday usage.
