Features are challenging articles to write. It’s not simply a matter of knocking off a 250-word ‘he said, she said’ news story. With a feature you may have a 3,000-word space to fill and half a dozen interviews to sift through. Half the challenge – and half the fun – of feature writing is the revising and rewriting process during which, when the pieces fall into place, you gain a great deal of satisfaction from the final polished product.
