ABSTRACT
Appraisal demands a high level of interviewing skills: active listening, appropriate questioning, negotiation and, not infrequently, counselling skills. We are well aware that time for appraisal training has been limited and will, now specific funding has ended and other needs have to be met, be even more difficult for schools to make available.
