ABSTRACT

Beyond their first sexual relationships, how do young men live, coexist and form long-term relationships and families with women? What are these relationships like? Is violence involved? And what about those young men who are fathers? It is useful to start this reflection with a discussion of the general nature of young men’s more stable relationships with women. As seen in Chapter 8, most young men have a longer period of sexual experimentation than young women, more partners before forming a stable relationship, and more occasional partners (and even regular, outside partners) even when in stable relationships.
