ABSTRACT
This chapter talks about many different platforms that are used to deliver informational content. The proliferation of digital media is rapidly transforming the way people receive news and information. The Internet has obviously become the big gorilla in the room when it comes to news and information. Games are a highly effective and popular way to involve users in informational material and to absorb it in an experiential manner. Taxonomy is extremely useful for organizing informational content on the Internet as well as other digital media. Humor is a traditional and effective way to make content engaging. Virtual reality installations are unique in the way they can give participants a chance to connect with information content in a deeply experiential manner. Digital storytelling techniques can successfully be applied to virtually any type of informational project. Agent-based modeling is a common technique used to populate and animate scenes in video games and films with virtual characters.
