ABSTRACT
Obituaries attract a great deal of interest among both newspaper and magazine readers and have become so popular that many people turn to the obituary page before reading anything else. When someone dies it is customary to insert a notice in a newspaper or magazine (see death notices). An obituary can be described as a published notice of the details of a person's death together with a biography cataloguing his or her life.
