ABSTRACT

Once Citizenship has become an integral part of the school curriculum, it provides opportunities for reflection on practice in the context of both the school and subject specialisms. For many, Citizenship provides a novel experience as it lends itself to a variety of teaching strategies which may be different from the norm in a range of subjects. Developing the skills required for debate, presentations, role play and group work, for example, help students to learn to build an argument – an asset in any subject.
