ABSTRACT

Throughout this book there have been numerous descriptions of ways to apply hypnosis in a variety of clinical contexts. The goals for each session and the steps toward those goals will naturally vary across clients, but there are specific themes that frequently recur in psychotherapy. Some examples are: encouraging people to take responsibility for themselves; encouraging people to be proactive on their own behalf; helping people develop a better sense of both their uniqueness and personal boundaries; and, helping people adjust to difficult circumstances. There are, of course, many, many others.
