ABSTRACT
Officially the value of Colombia’s exports consists of about one-third each of oil, agricultural products (mainly coffee) and manufactures, but per head of population they are only about one-third of the value of Venezuela’s total exports. Colombia is the main processor of coca leaves from the coca shrub, which is grown mainly in Peru and Bolivia, but the proceeds of exports of cocaine are omitted from official trade statistics.
